These Spaniels have a strong desire to please – a trait that, along with their natural intelligence, makes them quite trainable. They adore being part of everyday family life and won't shy away from any fun or frolic. While they carry the sophistication of royal spaniels, Cavaliers are sturdier and more robust than they look. They are a graceful and well-balanced breed, possessing a smooth, effortless gait that's reminiscent of their spaniel ancestors. Their silky coats, in colors of Blenheim (chestnut and white), tricolor, black and tan, or ruby, are a sight to behold, adding to their appeal. The breed is known for its friendliness and adaptability, eagerly greeting family, friends, and even strangers with the same enthusiastic tail wag and eager-to-please attitude. Their love for both play and relaxation makes them excellent companions for families and individuals alike.Ī Cavalier's soft, expressive eyes are a window to their affectionate and gentle souls. Our mission is to raise happy & healthy Cavaliers. We have been enamored with the breed ever since. Their compact size doesn't hinder their playful, energetic nature – they're just as happy chasing a butterfly as they are lounging on your lap. We have been involved in the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel breed since 1989, when our first Cavalier joined our family. As they trot along with their feathered tails wagging in sync, Cavaliers carry an air of nobility that's simply hard to resist.Ĭavalier King Charles Spaniels, often referred to simply as 'Cavaliers', are small dogs with big personalities. Ideally, we’d like to keep her within a few hours of her CT location. We want very badly to find her the right home and now that we have a good idea about what is bothering her, we’re hoping we can find that forever placement. She is an absolute love and is great with people. We require a securely fenced yard attached to the home. Not only is she good in her crate but she also likes to snuggle under the covers! She just wants attention and love!Įmily is ¾ Cavalier and ¼ Bichon. She would probably be great in a home with older, very active children who would play, throw the ball and keep her mind busy, get her involved in agility, scent or rally classes. She has shown great interest in scent training and she would be great in agility. She needs to be active and have a purpose. It has taken a lot of time and effort to figure her out. Her aggression has only been with one other dog in the home. She needs to be kept busy and active in order to keep her mind busy and ultimately keep her calm and avoid stress building up. She would be best in an active home as the only dog (only pet) but she can interact with other dogs in play groups and group classes. In her current situation with several other dogs of varying ages, it is “too many” for her. It has been a challenge to figure out what is the best fit for Emily but after working with trainers and communicators, we feel we are understanding her better and what sort of environment would suit her best.
